What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Cycle Clerk position at Brown Physicians, Inc.?
SUMMARY:
The Revenue Cycle Clerk will be responsible for opening and sorting the mail and will handle all patient correspondences that are received daily and miscellaneous third-party correspondence.
This is a full-time, 40 hours/week position (8:00AM-4:30PM Monday-Friday), at our 110 Elm St. Providence location.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applies the Brown Physicians Inc. values of patient care priority, dignity, collaboration, integrity and quality in support of the Brown Physicians Inc. mission to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care, research excellence and outstanding physician education. Is responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with the Brown Physicians Inc. Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
Practices the Brown Physicians Inc. Customer Service Standards.
Medical Billing
- Responsible for opening and sorting mail.
- Handle all patient correspondence and miscellaneous third-party correspondence that are received daily.
- Performs clerical functions including typing, filing, and maintaining related correspondences.
- Other responsibilities as needed
General
- Maintains neat and orderly work area.
- The Accounts Receivable Clerk must maintain professional behavior when interacting with employees, patients, vendors, and others.
- Attends interval meetings/trainings related to areas of responsibility when necessary.
- Meets with supervisor on a regular basis for supervision.
- Other tasks assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
- Good computer and clerical skills are required.
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills required.
- Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT-4 coding and medical terminology required.
EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in a typical office setting requiring extended periods of sitting, standing and walking. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
INDEPENDENT ACTION:
Work is performed under general supervision, with some independent judgment exercised in determining priorities.
