Job Description
As a Construction Site Supervisor at Brown & Root, you will oversee the construction of various structures, including concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that these structures are built according to sketches, blueprints, or company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Examine and gather materials and tools to ensure they meet the required specifications.
- Determine the dimensions of each structure based on blueprints and specifications.
- Inspect the base surface for any obstructions before commencing work.
- Load, transport, and unload materials as needed.
- Measure boards, timbers, or plywood using square, measuring tape, and ruler, and mark cutting lines on materials using pencil and scriber.
- Cut boards and plywood panels to the required sizes using saws.
- Use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors, and pry bars to assemble and disassemble structures.
- Construct scaffold components, including handrails, mid rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screening, locking pins, and wheels, to job specifications.
- Secure scaffolding to permanent structures by tying them in place.
- Erect scaffolding for buildings and other structures and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
- Set and brace anchor bolts to ensure stability.
- Maintain equipment and perform minor cleaning activities as needed.
- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
Qualifications and Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field or related area. You must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction industry. Additionally, you will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform your duties.
