Job Description:
The Carpenter is responsible for building, positioning, and dismantling wooden structures according to sketches, blueprints, or company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Examine and gather materials and tools.
- Determine structure dimensions from blueprints and specifications.
- Inspect base surface for obstructions.
- Loading, transporting, and unloading material.
- Measure boards, timbers, or plywood using a square, measuring tape, and ruler, and mark cutting lines on materials with a pencil and scriber.
- Sawing boards and plywood panels to required sizes.
- Using carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, hand saws, drill motors, and pry bars.
- Assembling scaffolding containing handrails, mid rails, braces, planks, toeboards, screening, locking pins, and wheels to job specifications.
- Bracing forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts for use in building concrete piers, footings, and walls.
- Securing scaffolding to permanent structure by tying.
- Erecting scaffolding for buildings and other structures and installing ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
- Setting and bracing anchor bolts.
- Making minor repairs or cleaning activities on tools and equipment.
- Observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
Requirements:
