Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies and policies
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and requirements
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products
- Analyze pricing proposals and make recommendations for cost savings
- Coordinate with production planning and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Proficient in using excel
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers
- Solid understanding of production planning and materials management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
