The Department of Surgery at Brown University is delighted to announce the recruitment of a Division Chief of Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. This division resides in the Department of Surgery and the Chief will report to the Chair of Surgery. The Division Chief of Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care will lead the clinical, academic, and operational activities of the division, ensuring excellence in patient care, education, research, and community engagement. This leadership role involves strategic planning, faculty mentorship, program development through innovation and research, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across the institution.
Minimum requirements include board certification in general surgery and surgical critical care with a minimum of 7-10 years of post-fellowship clinical and academic experience. The applicant should have proven track record of leadership in a multidisciplinary team setting with demonstrated success in research, education, and program development. The applicant must meet the requirements to be eligible for appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor of Surgery in the Research Scholar or Teaching Scholar tracks at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University to include an established record of scholarly achievements and publications with a national or international reputation. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong track record of academic achievement, administrative experience, and a commitment to advancing the fields of trauma surgery and critical care. Highly desirable attributes include expertise in quality improvement and performance management in trauma care, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams, fostering a culture of collaboration.
