Job Summary:

The EHS Coordinator implements and manages safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment. This role involves conducting safety inspections, ensuring compliance with federal and state safety regulations, and fostering a culture of safety at our IN and TN locations. The EHS Coordinator will collaborate with management, employees, and external agencies to mitigate risks, investigate incidents, and provide safety training. Overnight travel is expected to be less than 20%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Program Management:
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and develop corrective actions for multiple facilities in TN and IN.
  • Training and Development:
  • Ensure employees understand safety protocols and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest safety standards and ensure they are incorporated into the training program.
  • Manage and create SDS and labels
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting:
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
  • Prepare detailed reports, maintain incident records, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Ensure timely reporting to regulatory bodies as required.
  • Compliance and Auditing:
  • Oversee safety inspections and audits across all company locations.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Implement corrective actions and follow up on regulatory changes.
  • Risk Management and Safety Culture:
  • Identify and evaluate workplace hazards and develop strategies to reduce risk.
  • Promote a culture of safety by engaging employees and management in safety initiatives.
  • Lead safety meetings and communicate with staff about ongoing safety efforts.

· DOT Regulation

o Conduct quarterly IFTA reporting

o Monitor the safety of fleet activities

o Drive innovation in the warehouse and transportation operations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar safety certification a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports on safety metrics.
  • Proficiency in safety software and technology tools for reporting and analysis.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and implement safety policies effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to train and mentor staff.
  • Proficient in conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Ability to handle emergencies and work under pressure.
  • Experience in the chemical industry is a bonus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
