Full job description
Full-time Heavy Equipment Operator position. Monday-Friday, occasional weekends.
Heavy equipment may include Excavators, and Backhoe.
Underground Utility experience is a plus.
Essential Job Requirements
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or fatalities
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
- Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
- Advise the Superintendent of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
- Participate in routine maintenance
- Practice workplace safety
- Perform other related duties
Working Conditions and Essential Physical Requirements
- Environmental conditions - The Heavy Equipment Operator must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat.
- Climb on and around equipment and sit for long periods while operating equipment.
- Work outside year-round in the different weather conditions and temperatures.
2 years of experience in the following:
- Equipment safety
- Operation of Backhoe, and Excavators.
- Workplace safety requirements and procedures
- Record keeping system
- Equipment cleaning standards and procedures
- Ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Decision making skills
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Ability to read and write to record pickups and maintain daily records
- Time management
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
- Heavy equipment operation: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CDL A (Required)

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
