What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grade 7/8 Math & Science Teacher position at BROWNS RIVER MIDDLE SCHOO?
Browns River Middle School (BRMS) is seeking a certified teacher with a focus of instruction at the 7th and 8th grade level for Science and Math. BRMS is a middle school located in Jericho Vermont consisting of approximately 400 students in grades 5-8. Our teaching model includes differentiated instruction in collaboration with special educators.
The ideal candidate for this position will:
-demonstrate an understanding of, and/or have experience with MTSS and UDL
-knowledge of and ability to design instruction to align with NGSS
-have an understanding and experience working within a proficiency-based learning environment
-willing to collaborate with their team colleague as well as team special educators and instructional coaches
-value and implement inclusive and equitable teaching practices as well as use a variety of instructional techniques and resources to create a differentiated learning space
-ability to create strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues and values the importance of these relationships
-have strong planning and instructional skills at the middle school level
-values the importance of data and feedback to inform instruction
-uses and understands the importance of formative assessment
-have the ability and experience to organize classroom spaces, systems and procedures and possess effective classroom behavior management skills to ensure a socially and emotionally safe learning environment
