What are the responsibilities and job description for the Church Bookkeeper position at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church?
Position: Brownson Church Bookkeeper
Classification: Part-Time, Non-exempt
Work Schedule: M-Th 9-4, 28 hours per week
Brownson Church Responsibilities:
· Enter financial transactions to include invoicing and staff credit cards.
· Prepare and Record deposits along with ACH, PayPal, SubSplash, Vanco.
· Reconciling of bank statements.
· Check preparation weekly.
· Prepare financial reports for all Stewardship and Session Meetings.
· Prepare monthly budget reports for Ministry Teams.
· Quarterly Contribution Statements.
· Complete semi-monthly payroll and annual tax documents.
· Annual preparation of Sales Tax Reports, Annual Budget, 1099, W2 and Annual Records Review.
· Prepare for annual records review.
· Organize and file as needed.
Brownson Learning Center (BLC) Responsibilities:
· Complete BLC Payroll and Reimburse BMPC.
· Prepare sales tax reports for reimbursement from state of NC.
· Prepare tax documents for BLC employees.
SKILLS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting system.
· Familiarity with a wide range of financial transactions including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent data entry skills.
· Team player willing to adapt to changing needs of the church.
· Able to multi-task, prioritize, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
· Great interpersonal and customer service skills.
