The Washington, D.C. office is seeking an Education and Labor Policy Advisor / Associate to join our dynamic Government Relations team.
Candidates should have either (1) at least three years of legislative experience working on Capitol Hill or in the executive branch on matters relating to education and/or labor policy; or (2) be a second or third-year associate with experience in one of the relevant issues areas.
Candidates must have:
- Excellent research and writing skills;
- Strong organizational skills;
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and balance a multitude of simultaneous competing priorities;
- Strong interpersonal/communications skills;
- The ability to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative manner;
- The ability to analyze complex legislation and regulations in the relevant policy areas;
- An understanding of the legislative and political process;
- The ability to engage clients and government officials in a mature, professional manner; and
- Established relationships and experience working at the federal level with staff and lawmakers is a plus, but not required.
