We have an immediate need for a Financial Analyst to join our Denver office in a hybrid remote and in-person role. Reporting to the Director of Pricing and Legal Project Management, this position will play a key role in supporting the firm’s pricing needs and will join the 30 person finance department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help develop budgets and estimates for legal matters and to develop appropriate fee arrangements, including scope and assumptions, staffing, and phases of engagement
- Identify, document, and monitor the performance of budgets, fee estimates, and alternative fee arrangements by maintaining a database and ensuring that the accounting system accurately reflects matter budget and fee arrangement detail; develop and maintain models to assess the profitability of pricing proposals; propose corrective actions or recommendations for improvement, if needed
- Conduct post-engagement and historical analysis to gain insights into pricing future engagements
- Collaborate with the Business Development team by providing pricing support on RFP and pitch responses
- Maintain, update and design templates to assist with budget and fee estimate creation and performance monitoring throughout the matter lifecycle
- Provide analysis and reporting in support of annual timekeeper rate setting and revenue planning meetings
- Participate in the annual client and matter rate review
- Provide analysis, reporting, and recommendations to support client and matter management needs
- Organize and effectively communicate negotiated agreements, including alternative fee arrangements, to the appropriate teams
- Assist in the development of tools and processes to enhance the pricing capabilities and functionality at the firm
- Stay informed of industry trends
- Ad hoc analysis, reports, and projects and other duties as assigned
- Demonstrate professionalism, solid judgment and diplomacy when executing tasks or collaborating with others
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Minimum of two to three years of relevant financial analysis experience, with previous corporate law firm or other professional services environment
- Strong Excel skills are required and experience with databases
- Strong attention to detail and ability to verify accuracy of complex reports
- High level of professionalism and excellent written and verbal skills
Compensation and Benefits: Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k match, profit sharing, and vacation/sick/personal time off. We are offering a wide range salary for this role of $65,000-$75,000. Compensation is based on location and experience.
