OVERWIEW:
We are currently looking for a dedicated Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist to join our healthcare team. As an HIM Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and organizing patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and security of all medical records
- Process requests for medical records from healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients
- Utilize electronic health record systems to input and retrieve patient information
- Assist healthcare providers in locating and accessing patient records as needed
- Perform quality checks on medical records to identify and correct any discrepancies or errors
- Follow all relevant privacy and confidentiality regulations when handling medical records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless access to patient information
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED. Completion of Medical Office Specialist training program from qualified school strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in medical office systems for managing electronic health records
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA to accurately interpret and organize medical records
- Familiarity with medical records management practices and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while prioritizing tasks effectively
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and offsite.
