Job Description
The Youth Development Manager oversees all youth services in the Brownsville Seeds of
Literacy OST Initiative, at their assigned site, ensuring the effective delivery of educational and
enrichment programming. This role supervises Youth Development Specialists and Assistants,
supports curriculum implementation, and fosters a culture of excellence and inclusivity across
the program. The Brownsville Seeds of Literacy OST Initiative serves students Kindergarten through 3rd Grade.
Position Base Schedule :
Option 1 : Summer Only, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM (05.01.2025 - 07.25.2025)
Option 2 : Summer 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM and School Year 3 : 00 PM - 6 : 00 PM (05.01.2025 - 05.31.2025).
Both options are temporary for one year, with the option to renew for another year.
Responsibilities and Duties
Supervise and support Youth Development Specialists and Assistants, including
scheduling, training, and ongoing coaching.
Collaborate with the Program Manager to align program activities with goals and grant
requirements.
Monitor program delivery to ensure activities meet quality standards and engage
students effectively.
Lead professional development sessions focused on best practices in youth
engagement, classroom management, and curriculum delivery.
Serve as a primary point of contact for addressing and resolving student or family
concerns.
Analyze program data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and recommend
strategies to enhance student outcomes.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelors degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
Minimum three years in a leadership role within an educational or youth development program (1 year acceptable for graduate students and candidates with advanced degrees).
Strong management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Expertise in curriculum delivery and youth program best practices.
Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of educators and support staff.
