Job Responsibilities | Medical assistants are cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties.They will work alongside the physician and nurse practitioners to provide quality patient care.
Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):
- Using computer applications
- Greeting all patients
- Updating and filing out patient medical records and forms
- Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):
- Triage
- Take medical histories
- Explain treatment procedures to patients
- Prepare patients for examination
- Assist the physician during exams
- Perform basic laboratory tests
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Administer medications as directed by a physician
- Remove sutures and change dressings
