What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Specialist position at BRP Pharmaceutical?
BRP is hiring a Procurement Specialist with a previous background in pharmaceuticals. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the timely procurement, delivery, and documentation of business materials and is responsible for evaluating suppliers to find the best deals possible on goods that are needed for business success and operational continuity.
What you will do
- Generates, maintains and follows through on all Purchase Orders ensuring specified deadlines are met.
- Work with Vice President to perform administrative functions with vendors and customers – regularly email open PO reports, confirm receipt of POs, review status to update PO’s and coordinate the status and activity of deliveries
- Manages receipt flow and secures timely deliveries by partnering with Operations and Accounting.
- Assists with planning and executing procurement strategies in accordance with fiscal responsibilities & inventory management
- Optimize inventory levels with analytics
- Build and enhance forecast models
- Maintain up-to-date pricing in the system.
- Maintain files with vendor and product information
- Create and obsolete item numbers in system
- Create recaps and reports as needed
- Maintains positive working relationships with vendors and internal partners by developing collaborative and diverse relationships utilizing, among other skills, knowledge of pharmaceutical language
- Create new vendor and manufacturer relationships to increase access to products and to attain better pricing
- Support Vice President on all day-to-day functions of the department.
- Other tasks and projects as assigned
Who you are
- 4-year degree is preferred but not required
- Minimum 3 years of generic pharmaceutical procurement experience
- Must possess great attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of branded and generic products
- Ability to multitask and reprioritize projects frequently is essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with vendors and all levels of staff and management.
- Must demonstrate problem solving skills, multi-tasking capabilities and flexibility
- Resourceful and able to research problems and recommend solutions
- Independent, self-motivated, team player
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel
