Building Maintenance Technician/Welder:
BRT Extrusions, located in Niles, OH, is looking for an experienced Building Maintenance Technician with welding experience for our Niles, OH Plant.
The Building Maintenance crew works with a team to cover 24/7 operations, so schedules can vary but are generally 8-to-12-hour shifts. The Building Maintenance crews manage the upkeep, repairs, and additions to the current 400,000 Square foot BRT facility.

Essential duties of the Building Maintenance Technician/Welder
These are some of the general maintenance duties of the maintenance technician, but these do not cover all duties.
Individuals in this role will do:
Welding and Fabrication
Pipe Fitting
Frame and finish construction projects
Hang and finish Drywall
Identify and fix basic electrical
Make basic plumbing repairs
Make roofing repairs
Sheet Metal work
Drive a Forklift as needed
Requirements for the Building Maintenance Technician/Welder:
High School Graduate or Equivalent
2 years’ experience doing maintenance repairs - manufacturing environment is preferred.
Welding and Fabrication Experience is required
Must be willing to work 8 or 12 hour shifts with a varying schedule.
Must have and use organizational skills to manage building maintenance priorities.
Must use all required PPE and follow all Safety policies and protocol.
Must have Forklift driving experience.
Must Read and write and communicate with supervisors and employees in English.
Must have experience with most maintenance related hand/power tools.
Must have better than average math skills.
Must have and maintain good attendance.
Must follow all Company Policies.
Must be willing to participate in all required job and or employment related trainings. This includes but is not limited to all safety and technical or role or tool specific trainings.
Physical requirements of the Building Maintenance Technician:
This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing/office environment. The temperatures can fluctuate from hot to cold and the noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to traverse a large plant (400,000 square feet), bend, stoop, twist, turn and climb frequently. With proper safety equipment, an individual in this role may work above ground level (off the ground) for long periods of time (using ladder or stool or other equipment). An individual in this role will need to be always aware of movement and/or noises around them. An individual in this role must move 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally. An individual in this role will be an effective communicator verbally and in writing, and this role requires individuals to read and follow written procedures in English.
