What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Administrative Assistant position at Bruce & Merrilees?
As our Safety Administrative Assistant, you are a valuable part of our success collaborating with the team to deliver "Powerful Solutions". Your role provides administrative support to the Safety Department as well as being a safety resource to field and office team members. This position processes and summarizes safety-related data to provide accurate and timely reporting.
Some of the Work You'll Do:
- Commit to and prioritize safe work - there is nothing more important!
- Administer support to the Safety Department: Near Miss/Good Catch recognition letters, meeting scheduling, reporting, etc.
- Maintain and update safety reports, bulletins, action logs, incident tracker, and monthly safety focus.
- Manage hazardous chemical inventory and SDS files.
- Inventory and maintain stock of necessary PPE.
- Proofread safety documents.
- Attending meetings, take meeting minutes, and distribute, as necessary.
- Aid internal and external customers via face-to-face, email, and phone.
- Prepare paperwork for new hire safety orientation.
- Assist in scheduling new hire safety orientation.
- Occasional field visits.
- Additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate's Degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of administrative support experience.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in prioritization.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in phone communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude and professional customer service acumen.
- Excellent organizational and document management skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong computer aptitude.
- Accountability for meeting deadlines and commitments.
- Adaptability to changing and ambiguous situations.
- Maintains high confidentiality and professionalism.
