As a Testing Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical systems. Your work will include on-site testing, diagnostics, and commissioning across commercial, industrial, and utility markets. You'll be part of a team committed to high-quality standards, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Act as a safety leader by identifying and mitigating hazardous situations while balancing scheduling and cost constraints.
  • Electrical Testing & Diagnostics: Conduct on-site testing and analysis of various electrical systems to ensure performance and compliance.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide mentorship and support to field personnel, guiding them through best practices in testing and commissioning.
  • Data Management: Create, maintain, and distribute detailed test reports and equipment data.
  • Project Collaboration: Lead field teams in testing and commissioning activities, working closely with engineers, project managers, and clients.
  • Customer Relations: Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure ongoing support and service.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in project support tasks, troubleshooting, and process enhancements to optimize efficiency.
  • Flexibility & Travel: Travel as needed, including overnight stays and participation in job site meetings.

Education & Training

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5 years of experience in electrical testing and system diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in reading architectural, structural, and electrical plans.
  • Familiarity with various electrical systems, components, and industry terminology.
  • Experience with test equipment such as:
    • Power Factor
    • Ductor
    • Megger
    • CT Ratio & Saturation
    • Hi-Pot
    • Circuit Breaker Timing
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical system failures.

  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to perform high-quality work.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems effectively.
  • Positive attitude and strong ability to collaborate with team members.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a strong driving record.
  • Ability to operate a full-size pickup truck.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, with flexibility for overtime, weekend work, and travel as needed.
