FOOD SERVER/HOST - Jay's Boat Dock
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB DESCRIPTION (including, but not limited to)
- MUST possess or be qualified to obtain a Tennessee SERVER’S PERMIT to serve alcohol
- Learn your serving area from management at the beginning of your shift
- Greet diner’s while distributing menus and silverware
- Take and deliver diner’s drink order
- Familiarize yourself with standard menu and specials of the day – be ready to offer recommendations on appetizers, meals and drinks
- Take diner’s order accurately
- Pick up and delivering correct orders from the kitchen staff in a timely and efficient manner
- Keep the table in an orderly manner while diners enjoy their meal and provide refills and/or additional requests as needed in a timely manner
- Deliver the end of meal ticket and ensure accurate payment
- Maintain open communication and compatibility with kitchen staff
- Warmly welcome diners as they enter the restaurant while maintaining a smile and eye contact
- Understand who you are seating and distinguish any unstated requests
- Seat diners at their own pace
- Communicate with servers and managers regarding the availability of tables, seating of large parties, and/or special requests
- Manage dining areas so that the serving staff is balanced
- Listen to diners concerns and immediately communicate with management team to ensure overall diner satisfaction
- Roll clean silverware, wipe down or replace menus, keep front of the restaurant neat, clean, and welcoming
Job Type: Seasonal
Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 32 per week
