PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loader operator
- Skid operator
- Receive, ship, and maintain inventories safely and timely.
- Operate equipment to enhance operation efficiency, product quality and minimize repair expenses.
- Inspect equipment daily for safety and mechanical problems, and fill out pre-shift inspection sheet as required.
- Keep equipment serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
- Operate the equipment safely in job site situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
- Maintain the appearance of the facility, equipment and grounds to project a positive image in the community.
- Maintain all records relating to maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment complying with company and OSHA standards.
- Maintain confidentiality.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May assist with operations at other terminal locations within the business unit.
- May assist in handling incoming/outgoing barges, trucks and railcars.
- May repair equipment in a safe and dependable operating condition to company and OSHA standards
- May clean and sweep facility.
- May maintain facility yard.
- May handle the blending of dry and liquid fertilizers.
- May perform basic office duties.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or demonstrated experience in vocational agriculture (or related field) or a combination of education and work experience.
· Have a valid driver’s license.
· Heavy equipment operation skills and an understanding of hauling, loading, and unloading techniques.
· Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the mechanics, hydraulics, and limitations of the equipment.
· Ability to perform manual labor in weather extremes (shoveling, lifting, moving materials).
· Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended hours.
· Must use tact and diplomacy in dealing with customers and company personnel.
· Must be dependable and reliable.
· Actions must demonstrate ability to work responsibility and safely.
Also need to be willing to pull some night shifts and liquid barge unload 12 hour shifts in peak season. This is not regularly.
