Fire Protection and Compliance Support Inspector
BRUDIS & ASSOCIATES, INC. (BAI) is a multidiscipline engineering firm providing consulting services to public and private sector clients in the Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia region.
Job Summary:
Brudis & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer or Inspector to work full-time supporting construction activities for Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Aviation Administration (MDOT MAA) located at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport and Martin State Airport.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform inspections necessary during the installation of the fire prevention systems to ensure that the systems are installed in accordance with the construction documents and permits
- Perform reviews of the life safety, fire prevention systems, fire protection shop drawing submittals, construction in progress inspections, and construction final inspections and acceptance tests for all projects as assigned by the BWI Chief of Fire Prevention.
- Document construction of improvements via digital Inspector Daily Reports including photographs, correction items, and deficiencies. These services will consist of reporting to work on behalf of the BWI Chief of Fire Prevention.
- MDOT MAA issues nearly 120 permits annually including Building Permits, Installation Permits and Single Trade permits for the airport concessions program, airlines, Federal agencies and MDOT MAA’s own departments. In addition, approximately 50 MAA Capital projects are reviewed each year by the Chief of Fire Prevention.
- Other duties as required by the client
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
- 5-10 years of related experience
- P.E. license is not required, but a plus
- Must have the ability to work in a team environment
- Must have good oral, written communication and computer skills
- OSHA 10 certification is a plus
