Brunel is recruiting I&E Construction Coordinators to work in Lake Charles, LA for initially 1 year contract.
The I&E Construction Coordinator will support home office and field-based construction activities, ensuring the technical and safety integrity of field engineering, procurement, and QA processes. This role will work closely with discipline supervisors, contractors, and project stakeholders to oversee instrumentation and electrical (I&E) construction and facilities start-up activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing the Construction Execution Plan, including contracting strategy, management systems, and staffing.
- Influence design engineering to ensure accessibility within Inside Battery Limits (ISBL) and Outside Battery Limits (OSBL) for efficient yard space utilization.
- Ensure major equipment and sub-structures are arranged for safe and efficient lifting and handling.
- Work with site teams and discipline construction supervision across civil, structural, mechanical, welding, NDT, electrical, instrumentation, piping, coatings, insulation, fireproofing, pre-commissioning, rigging, and heavy lifting.
- Oversee QA/QC, logistics, materials control, HSE, project controls, and contract administration functions.
- Mobilize site teams, offices, IT systems, transportation, emergency procedures, and accommodation arrangements.
- Assist in pre-qualifying fabricators, contractors, and major package assembly sites.
- Participate in bid clarification, evaluation, and kick-off meetings.
- Develop fabrication scopes of work and review contract terms.
- Oversee contractor compliance with safety and QA/QC management systems.
- Participate in Site Safety Management Systems, ensuring compliance with HSE targets for Company and Contractor staff.
- Review and approve contractor schedules, planning basis, and progress statements.
- Specify and negotiate progress recovery measures as needed.
- Supervise in-house and contractor construction teams for I&E capital projects.
Basic & Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as a Construction Coordinator.
- 1.5 to 3 years of experience in major capital project construction (domestic or international), particularly in petroleum, industrial, or fabrication site construction.
- 1 years of related construction site management experience.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education/training.
- Strong technical competency in construction planning, execution, and supervision.
- Second language proficiency (or aptitude for acquiring one).
- Excellent interpersonal, team-building, and leadership skills.
