Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting duties (reconciliations, schedules, etc.)
- Process weekly payroll for all employees in accordance with established timelines.
- Ensure accurate computation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including information related to hire dates, terminations, promotions, and pay changes.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues.
- Prepare and report accurate payroll taxes and other deductions to the appropriate authorities.
- Stay up-to-date on payroll regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end financial reports and tax documents, including W-2s and 1099s.
- Collaborate with HR to address employment status changes and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide support during audits, maintaining transparency in payroll practices and records.
- Develop and implement payroll procedures and policies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in the implementation and management of payroll software and systems.
Qualifications
- Experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in payroll processing and administration.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations and wage laws.
- Proficiency in payroll software and other accounting systems (Automate).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and employees.
