Job Title: Body Shop Bodyman

Job Summary:
The body shop bodyman is responsible for repairing and restoring vehicle bodies and frames to their pre-accident condition. This includes removing dents, performing alignments, welding, replacing damaged parts, and refinishing surfaces. The bodyman will work collaboratively with the body shop team to ensure high-quality repairs and deliver exceptional customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform vehicle inspections to assess damages and develop repair plans.
2. Repair body panels and frames by applying appropriate techniques such as pulling, hammering, and cutting.
3. Remove dents, scratches, and rust, ensuring a smooth finish.
4. Replace and align damaged parts, including doors, windows, fenders, and bumpers.
5. Perform welding work to repair frames and structural components.
6. Ensure accurate color matching and application of paint to achieve a flawless finish.
7. Utilize computerized estimate systems to provide accurate cost estimates for repairs.
8. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to industry standards and shop policies.
9. Collaborate with the paint team to ensure seamless integration of repaired and refinished parts.
10. Stay updated with industry trends, new repair techniques, and advancements in automotive technology.
11. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the repair process.
12. Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating repair progress and addressing customer concerns.
13. Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
14. Maintain accurate records of all repairs, including photos, notes, and documentation of parts used.

Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Proven experience as a bodyman or similar role in a body shop environment.
3. Proficiency in automotive body repair techniques, including welding, dent removal, and panel replacement.
4. Strong knowledge of frame straightening, alignment, and refinishing techniques.
5. Proficiency in using body shop tools, machinery, and equipment.
6. Proficient in using computerized estimate systems.
7. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality workmanship.
8. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
9. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
10. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
11. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certification or trade school diploma in automotive body repair.
2. Previous experience working in a dealership or independent body shop.
3. Knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices.
4. Familiarity with OEM repair procedures and guidelines.

Working Conditions:
The body shop bodyman may work in a repair shop or dealership's body shop, which may require standing for long periods, bending, lifting heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions. PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, should be worn when necessary to protect against potential hazards.
