Job Responsibilities:
Plumbing & Excavation Work: Perform residential and commercial plumbing installations, replacements, and repairs, including underground piping, sewer lines, water mains, and other buried utilities requiring excavation.
Excavation Operations: Safely and efficiently operate excavation equipment, including mini-excavators, backhoes, and trenchers, to dig trenches and access plumbing lines as needed.
System Testing & Inspections: Conduct pressure tests, leak detection, and inspections to ensure plumbing systems meet safety standards and are code compliant.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Identify and resolve plumbing issues above and below ground level, including root intrusion, collapsed lines, and drainage problems.
Customer Communication: Clearly explain work performed, provide updates on project timelines, and answer customer questions with professionalism and courtesy.
Job Documentation: Accurately record work performed, site conditions, equipment usage, and job status through documentation and job reports.
Team Collaboration: Coordinate with plumbing crews, dispatchers, and other technicians to ensure seamless and timely project execution.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including trench safety and traffic control measures when performing excavation.
Service Titan Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with Service Titan software for scheduling, job tracking, and documentation is a plus.
Qualifications:
Experience: 5 years of plumbing experience and 2 years of hands-on excavation equipment operation.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid plumbing licenses and excavation certifications preferred; trench safety and OSHA certifications are a strong plus.
Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, interpret utility maps, and understand schematics for underground infrastructure.
Equipment Proficiency: Skilled in operating mini-excavators, skid steers, trenchers, and hand tools necessary for underground plumbing work.
Code Knowledge: Familiarity with local plumbing and excavation codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
Physical Requirements: Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and lifting heavy materials and equipment.
Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Customer Service: Strong communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
