Overview
Assemble electronic or mechanical products from blueprints using assembly fixtures and power bench tools. Cut & crimp wires, form, connect and perform simple soldering in accordance with instructions. Fit and align assemblies, recognize defective parts, inspect and test final assemblies on a variety of assembly operations.
Responsibilities
- Experience with Kanban Inventory process
- Count and record parts from inventory with accuracy using basic math skills
- Communicate shortages, scrap and delays when applicable
- Read tape measure and interpret work instructions
- Operate small hand and power tools
- Perform cuts, crimps, connections and solder as required
- Use computer software to locate and print assembly drawings
- Identify and obtain accurate assembly fixtures as called by Work Order
- Assemble products to Work Order specifications
- Perform assembly tasks to meet daily production standards of quality and quantity
- Package product for shipment
- This job may be required to perform electrical assembler/packager job duties
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school or general education (GED) preferred
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Complete standardized written documentation and correspondence.
- Professionally communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to perform basic electronic tasks using computer software and Microsoft Office.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Environment is a modern production facility with heat and air conditioning
- The job requires the use of hand/powered tools and operation of a pallet jack
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally required to stand; bend, kneel, twist, reach overhead routinely to retrieve inventory or pack shipments
- Required to walk occasionally
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds routinely
- Ability to lift 31 pounds to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance occasionally
- Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate hand and power tools, wires, fixtures, parts and sub-assemblies
- Required to climb a ladder to retrieve or store parts occasionally
- Required to climb a ladder regularly when assigned to shipping duties
- Required to safely ride product up to 14 feet in the air while performing product testing
