Bruno is seeking a Director of HR Employee Relations & Compliance on behalf of a client in the self-storage industry. This role offers the opportunity to lead compliance, employee relations, and risk management initiatives while aligning HR strategies with business goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Compliance Oversight :
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, immigration laws (H1-B, I-9), and leave management.
Monitor legislative changes to maintain compliance.
Policy Development :
Create and enforce HR policies that align with legal requirements and organizational objectives.
Partner with legal counsel to address pre-litigation employment matters, administrative claims, and audits.
Employee Relations :
Manage complex employee relations issues, including investigations, discipline, and termination.
Advise HR Business Partners and leaders on compliance and employee relations best practices.
Audit & Records Management :
Lead HR compliance audits, oversee data integrity, and manage employment verification processes.
Respond to legal and open records requests, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Immigration Management :
Oversee all employment-based immigration processes, including H1-B and other visa sponsorships.
Training & Collaboration :
Work with HR leaders to develop and deliver compliance training. Recommend updates to enhance training efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications :
- 10-15 years of HR management experience, with a focus on strategic roles and employee relations.
- Expertise in employment law (FMLA, EEO, ADA, FLSA) and immigration regulations.
- Strong background in compliance audits, investigations, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, consulting, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build trust and influence at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR technology systems (HRIS, ATS, LMS).
- Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Location & Travel :
This position is based in Plano, TX, requiring in-office presence five days a week with up to three flexible remote days per month.
