General Function
Teaches Floral Design to adult students.Essential Duties and Responsibilites
Recruits students to fill classes personally taughtProvides and follows a detailed syllabus, teaching 3-4 hours weekly for a 16-week semester (spring / fall) and / or 8-week session (summer).Provides individual feedback to adult students tailored to move them forward from their current level.Submits news and photos of student work for posting on Southport Center's social media accounts.Assists the Director with developing the Southport Center course schedule during each semester by submitting and reviewing own line-item entries.Submits timesheets and attendance rosters in an accurate and timely manner.Maintains good rapport with colleagues and studentsOther duties as assigned by the director.Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher.Self-motivated; works independentlyPassion for Floral Design with solid craft and teaching skills.Committed to the core values of Brunswick Community College- Respect, Excellence, Integrity, Opportunity, Community.Must have the ability to establish rapport with non-traditional older student populations in order to foster retention and program growthExcellent written and oral communication.
