Job Summary
As a Volunteer Coordinator for Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity, you will be the face of the organization’s volunteer program activities including recruitment, education, scheduling, and retention. The ideal candidate is a skilled professional who exhibits a positive, service-first attitude with internal staff, volunteers and the community with hands-on experience working in a non-profit environment.
- This position reports to: Director of Operations
- Work Hours: typically, Mon- Fri
- Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Principal Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Development team to promote volunteer opportunities through social media, newsletters, and other platforms.
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit, engage, and retain volunteers, including individuals, groups, and community partners.
- Act as a liaison to partner organizations and community groups sending volunteers.
- Manage volunteer scheduling using platforms like VolunteerHub or similar tools.
- Coordinate individual and group volunteer activities for construction projects, ReStore operations, special events, and office support.
- Communicate volunteer schedules and requirements with relevant staff.
- Conduct orientations and provide necessary training to ensure volunteers understand safety procedures and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities, including hours worked, contact information, and participation metrics.
- Prepare reports on volunteer engagement and program effectiveness as needed.
- Implement and oversee volunteer appreciation programs, such as events, recognition milestones, and personalized thank-you notes.
- Monitor volunteer satisfaction and address feedback to enhance their experience.
- Represent the organization at community events to recruit volunteers and build partnerships with local groups, schools, and businesses.
- Plan and coordinate volunteer-driven events, including recognition ceremonies and special builds (e.g., Women Build).
- Support logistics for volunteer activities, such as staging, materials, and refreshments.
- Ensure all volunteer liability waivers are completed during onboarding and renewed annually.
- Manage the community service program, ensuring a positive and impactful experience for all participants.
- Respond to all volunteer inquiries promptly and accurately.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization’s goals and volunteer engagement efforts.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Strong organizational and communication skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer management software.
- Experience in volunteer coordination or related field preferred.
