About this Opportunity
The Vector Control Operator I performs duties for Vector Control and Water Management Divisions to protect County citizens from mosquito populations and the diseases they may carry. This position also performs semi-skilled work in vector control, water management and beaver management including surveillance, larviciding, adulticiding, biological controls trapping and ditching to manage mosquito and beaver populations.
Education and Experience
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by five to eleven months of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CDL is required within 1 year of employment. Category B pesticide applicators license must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
Physical Requirements
Tasks involve the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which involves the lifting, carrying, pushing and / or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 75 pounds) and occasionally heavy items (up to 100 pounds). Must be able to perform duties in strenuous environmental conditions.
