POSITION TITLE : TITLE I PARAPROFESSIONAL
CONTRACT YEAR : 10 - MONTH CONTRACT
SALARY : SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE
DEPARTMENT : Totaro Elementary School
START DATE : immediately
Job Description : The candidate for this position will assist the classroom teacher with facilitating instruction and shared management of classroom supervision as assigned. The candidate for this position will promote the efficiency of classroom instruction by assisting the teacher with prepared instructional activities, facilitating small and whole class activities, and other library duties as assigned. Instructional assistants will be working in collaboration with their classroom teacher to prepare and deliver lessons, materials, and participate in professional development virtually, and offer in-person instruction as required. Protocols for daily health screening and sanitizing for the work environment will be followed according to the VDH and CDC guidelines.
Direct Accountability and Report : Works under the supervision of the building principal and direct supervision of the classroom teacher. An annual classified evaluation will be based on the job description, district, and personal goals and objectives specific to the school or the position.
EDUCATION
- To obtain highly qualified status the candidate must have
- High School Diploma with the ability to pass the ParaPro assessment or
- Possess an Associates Degree
