Brunswick County is currently accepting applications for an Emergency Management Specialist to join our Emergency Management team. At Brunswick County we’re committed to providing highly responsive, effective, and efficient emergency management and planning services for citizens and visitors across Brunswick County and surrounding areas. The Emergency Management Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring we’re able to positively impact the health, safety, and welfare of County residents during times of crisis, natural disasters, and other emergencies. The Emergency Management Specialist is responsible for performing administrative and technical work to support the overall preparedness mission for Brunswick County, including coordinating, deploying, and maintaining logistical resources. Work includes: Transporting equipment using trailers.Managing warehouse inventory.Coordinating the maintenance of emergency management assets.Ensuring operational readiness of communication and support equipment.Providing ongoing support during major emergencies/disasters for the County, towns, schools, and other designated partners.The Emergency Management Specialist acts as a core member of Brunswick County’s Emergency Management team and will be required to respond to emergency calls after hours and/or during events that require an emergency management response. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director of Emergency Management.
