A Social Worker III – After Hours provides on call coverage for both Adult and Child Protective Services for the agency outside of normal business house. The normal schedule for this position is every other week, starting Friday afternoon (3:30 PM) and ending the following Friday morning (8:30 AM), including nights and weekends. The Department of Social Services is required to provide Social Work Services to the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the person in this position helps the Department with this mandate. Job responsibilities include: Responding to all calls made to the agency after normal business hours under the supervision of the On Call Supervisor.Initiating new and existing Adult and Child Protective Services reports. Assessing the safety of children and adults and take appropriate action per policy.Completing timely, concise, detailed documentation.Completing case initiations, follow-up home visits, interviews, and other requests as assigned by the supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of child welfare policies and legal mandates Knowledge of social work, practices, and principlesWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteAssessments skillsCommunication skillsOrganizational skillsCritical thinking skillsThere will be a significant amount of time spent in family homes and in the community. Must be available to work during emergency situations.

Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pound of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
