PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Security Aide/Receptionist is an extension of Security Operations and compliments Security functions at our organization. You will be the first point of contact for our company.

Under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services, you will welcome guests positively and greet people who visit the business. You will coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls. The Security Aide/Receptionist will monitor our front desk/lobby area and perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.

To be successful as a Security Aide/Receptionist, you should have a pleasant personality, and strong professional and interpersonal skills, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining area operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. This role may require working in shifts, so flexibility is a must.

Ultimately, the Security Aide/Receptionist responsibilities are to enhance the level of services offered by Brunswick Hospital Center, Inc. and execute all tasks to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Meet, greet, and welcome all visitors to the facility as soon as they arrive
  • Assures that all visitors are screened according to established protocols
  • Maintain security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception area
  • Maintain logbook, issue visitor/vendor passes and notify appropriate staff of visitor arrivals
  • Notify Administration and Director of Security when regulatory agency representatives arrive on premises.
  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
  • Ensure that front doors are locked when admission is in progress
  • Ensure quiet and orderly conduct in the lobby area
  • Inspect all packages and deliveries

  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks


Required Qualifications

  • High School or Equivalency Diploma
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in psychiatric or general healthcare facility a plus.
