What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anticipated Director of Choral Music position at Brunswick School Department?
Brunswick Junior High School seeks an enthusiastic educator to create a strong, flexible middle-level choral music program and a classroom environment favorable to learning based on a foundation of musical and personal growth. This position teaches general music, three grade-level concert choirs/choruses (6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade), advanced choir, and small ensembles and tutorials as appropriate. A successful candidate should possess the following:
- Experience maintaining a tradition of established musical and educational excellence
- Ability to establish effective rapport with students
- Ability to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for a high-quality music education, in accordance with each student’s ability
- Ability to establish good relationships with parents, staff members, and community partners.
- Work effectively with a team of teachers
- State of Maine certification and CHRC approval are required
