Position Summary
The Maintenance Worker role requires performing general maintenance duties across Brunswick School campuses along with regular school bus driving responsibilities. Key duties include facility maintenance, grounds upkeep, and student transportation. Candidates must have or be willing to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsement within three months of hire.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Transportation
- Drive school bus between campuses following all safety protocols
- Maintain valid CDL with appropriate endorsement
Facilities Maintenance
- Address daily maintenance requests promptly and efficiently
- Perform general repairs across campus buildings, including residential areas
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues
- Maintain grounds through landscaping services
- Service and inspect equipment regularly
- Handle snow removal from parking areas, sidewalks, and paths
General Responsibilities
- Assist with moving and handling supplies, furniture, and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of facilities
- Respond to emergency calls 24/7 as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Related experience preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair with some knowledge and skills related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building operations.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Some computer skills preferred, including ability to use Brunswick’s email system and Google Drive.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform all essential functions using safe work methods and following safety regulations relating to the job.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, squat, stoop, or crawl into spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Work in both a traditional climate-controlled office setting as well as outside in weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold for periods of time.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4pm
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly
