Part-Time, Evening - Packaging and Value-add production

Company: Join a small USDA inspected meat processing plant renowned for its locally pasture raised meats and culinary excellence. We produce all cuts from whole animals down to sausages, bacon, and ready to eat products for foodservice and retail customers alike.

Position: We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team to focus on packaging activities and contribute to our value-added production. This position will focus on the planning, preparations, and completion of packaging activities as well as sausagemaking, curing, and marinating. This position will work as part of a team of two to four individuals and will be well suited to moving into leadership of that team.

Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. We have flexibility in exact start times for qualified applicants, but anticipate starting between 2pm and 4pm and working until the end of operations, typically around 9pm. Additional hours and duties are available for qualified applicants.

Responsibilities:

• Start up and prepare equipment
• Overlay inventory with orders to determine daily production needs
• Prepare ingredients and supplies for sausage production
• Measure and weigh out ingredients following company recipes
• Operate sausage stuffers, curing tumblers, and various packaging machines
• Participate in packaging, labeling, and inventory management processes to maintain product integrity and traceability.
• Ensure completeness and correctness of product packaging, labeling, and relevant records

Requirements:

• Previous experience in food safety preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting, maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Availability to work evening shifts on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
• Commitment to upholding safety standards and following proper procedures.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift over 50lbs as necessary.
