Bruster's Real Ice Cream in Stone Ridge, VA is looking for an ice cream maker! **AGE 18 ONLY**
SUMMARY: The overall responsibility of an Ice Cream Maker is to ensure the store is adequately stocked with ice cream (both dairy and non-dairy), sherbets, sorbets, and ices on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Produce ice creams, sherbets, sorbets, and ices
2. Maintain cleanliness of work area
3. Possess working knowledge of ice cream making equipment
4. Clean & sanitize ice cream making equipment
5. Organize & manage walk-in cooler and freezer
6. Helps by putting delivery items in proper place
7. Good decision making skills
8. Must be able to lift 50 pounds
THIS IS NOT A SUPERVISORY POSITION.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior food/ice cream preparation experience is helpful.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must possess well-developed verbal skills sufficient to communicate effectively with employees and customers as needed.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must possess math skills sufficient to complete paperwork, comprehend recipes and adjust measurements as needed.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: The position of Ice Cream Maker requires organization, cleanliness and attention to detail.
NOTE: This is an independent job. The position flexible scheduling (15-20 hours/week) where the right applicant can choose their hours outside of business operating hours (6am-9am, 7am-10am, 11pm-2am, etc). Shifts are roughly 3 hours and 4 days a week.
