Job Description
JOB TITLE: Executive Assistant
REPORTS TO: President/CEO

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides executive assistance to the President/CEO of the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce. Coordinates and supports Chamber Executive Committee and Board of Directors meetings and serves as the Chamber’s Secretary. Maintains office equipment maintenance programs. Provides support to the Receptionist and other Chamber departments as required. Assists with Chamber programs as needed/required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assists the President/CEO of the Chamber Of Commerce by:
- Scheduling meetings, appointments and appearances
- Maintaining his/her calendar
- Handling phone calls
- Managing correspondence
- Maintaining files.
Prepares and types agendas and minutes for Executive Committee and Board of Directors’ meetings.
Handles Board of Directors’ correspondence and communications as required.
Attends meetings on behalf of the President/CEO when requested.
Works with divisional vice chairman and board committee chairs on accomplishing the goals of their divisions and committees as necessary.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provides relief for the front desk as needed and works with that person to ensure coverage of the phone and front desk as needed.
Operates a personal computer (and is familiar with its network system), copy machine, postage meter, telephones, and other job related office equipment. Oversees and manages maintenance of office equipment.
Provides assistance to all managers and staff as necessary.
Attends Chamber functions such as Ribbon Cuttings, Deluxe Ribbon Cuttings, Events and Business After Hours.
Performs such other duties that may be assigned by the President/CEO, including committee and event coordination, as needed.
Will work occasional other hours/days as needed/required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, climbing, seeing, hearing, and talking as related to performing standard office duties; strength demand: light.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSES:
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred (related experience may be substituted for up to four years education, on a year-for-year basis); valid Texas driver's license.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:
The individual who holds this position must: have superb organizational skills; be able to effectively communicate, both in writing and orally; have the ability to relate to general public; have good coordination skills; work independently; be self-motivated; be resourceful, creative, versatile, and have initiative and ingenuity; have a good working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office, and other related software; be knowledgeable of Chamber duties and responsibilities (specific knowledge of Bryan/College Station preferred); have experience in business writing, coordinating functions and programs; possess effective time-management skills; maintain a professional appearance; have the ability to exercise good judgment and work within the procedures established by the Chamber.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
