What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter - Onsite position at Bryan Construction?
Responsible for designing, building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project layout
- Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions.
- Select materials.
- Read and understand plans and/or instructions from supervisors.
- Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
- Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
- Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
- Work on top of stilts, ladders, scaffold and the structure of buildings.
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with building codes and project specifications.
- Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
- Build stairs, mantles, and furniture.
- Install cabinets and molding.
- Renovation of buildings and businesses.
- Construction of forms and fabrication of reinforcing to place concrete systems.
- Erect scaffolding and shoring.
- Installation of ceiling.
- Installation of windows, doors, frames and hardware.
- Repair or build furniture.
- Install partitions
- Build other items as required
- Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands

- May at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection.
