Job Details
General job duties include managing care of patients with acute cardiovascular disease, respiratory failure, multi-system failure, and renal failure.
Performs therapeutic nursing interventions consistent with the Critical Care Unit including ACLS / PALS guidelines, dysrhythmia assessment and intervention, pre and postoperative care, airway and ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and vasoactive medication administration.
Provides direct care to approximately 1-3 patients based on patient census, acuity, needs, and qualifications of nursing personnel available.
Responsible for meeting patients' priority needs by assessing, participating in interdisciplinary care planning, providing and / or delegating care, and evaluating patients' responses and progress toward clinical outcomes.
Job Requirements
Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act.
Must provide evidence of certification and / or instruction for practice area as required by State or Federal standards / regulations.
Two (2) years experience in a Critical Care setting.
Schedule Information
Day & night 12 hour shifts.
Weekend requirements is at least every 3rd weekend, but could be up to every other weekend.
Employee will never work alone.
Unit Specific Information
Will primarily float from Med / Surg ICU to Neuro / Trauma ICU.
During times of high census, may float anywhere hospital wide.
First day with nurse manager for unit basics & Catalyst CBLs. Two shifts orienting with a nurse on the shift hired for. Two hour glucometer training.

2 years' ICU experience; must also have Med Surg experience and be comfortable with those ratios.
NE or Compact RN license
