Job Description
- Position will be on-site at customer facility
- Performer will lead the development of detailed competitive intelligence, capability assessments, and market assessments on the commercial remote sensing market for a national security space customer
- Conduct in-depth analysis of the commercial remote sensing value chain (including satellite manufacturing, ground systems, data processing, and downstream analytics) across optical, radar, and hyperspectral modalities
- Design and implement analytical approaches to assess remote sensing vendors based on technology, capabilities, and financials
- Analyze and synthesize multiple data sources, including existing internal databases, primary-source research, and SME input to create data-driven reports on remote sensing capabilities and market trends
- Demonstrate strong self-management skills by independently driving projects forward, anticipating challenges, and delivering high-quality work with minimal oversight in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Directly interface with customer and related stakeholders to support the office’s mission
- Develop and deliver presentations/briefings as needed to communicate key findings
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Coordinate closely with government stakeholders to ensure project success and provide strong communication throughout product development
Qualifications
- Relevant advanced degree (MA, MBA, MPP, other) in business, economics, finance, engineering, science, computer science, systems engineering, geospatial information/remote sensing systems or analytics, or related analytic, engineering, math, science, or technology field.
- 6-8 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years of project management experience on commercial aerospace or government acquisition, technology integration, or R&D programs
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Experience directly supporting government national security customers and an understanding of defense acquisition processes, operational requirements, and the role of commercial space in augmenting mission effectiveness and decision-making
- Knowledge of commercial remote sensing industry, capabilities, and value chain
- Broader knowledge of space/satellite, aerospace and defense, and/or aviation industries
- Proven experience delivering high-quality, data-driven research products analyzing commercial space markets, capabilities, and financing
Ideal candidate would also possess:
- Deep knowledge of remote sensing technologies, capabilities and commercial markets
- Experience managing high-functioning teams of analysts, including subject matter experts
- Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing applications
- Proficiency in data analytics and visualization platforms (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Tableau, R, or Python)
- Experience with database management and querying using SQL; ability to structure, clean, and extract insight from large datasets
