Job Description
BryceTech is currently looking for GIS Developer to support our government client in safeguarding the Nation's security, public health, safety, and economic vitality by enhancing resilience across critical healthcare infrastructure and key resources. These include essential healthcare facilities, transportation networks, and information systems that underpin the daily functioning of society. This program supports our client with geospatial analysis and technical support, information management, operational and emergency response support, program and project management, coordination and SLTT partner engagement, and documentation and reporting.
This position will assist in the creation of products, both static and dynamic for the dissemination of information pertaining to the planning, response and recovery to events and incidents where HHS is involved. This position will also assist in the creation of applications and code to assist in the automation of repetitive tasks for the GIAV Branch and other HHS staff. In addition to the creation of products and applications this position will assist the senior GIAV staff in the development of process and systems to enable the whole of GIS usage grow within HHS and all of the business partners. The contractor shall provide geospatial analysis and technical support to enhance situational awareness, decision-making, and response capabilities. Key responsibilities include:
- Data Collection and Management
- Systematically collect, organize, and manage geospatial and public health data from various sources.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility in GIS databases, including those supporting emergency preparedness and response.
- Geospatial Analysis and Insight Generation
- Analyze geospatial data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights for public health emergencies.
- Conduct advanced spatial analytics (e.g., hot/cold spot analysis) to inform decision-making and resource allocation.
- Map Creation and Visualization
- Design and produce clear, informative maps and visualizations to communicate complex data effectively.
- Use GIS tools to illustrate the status of public health emergencies and response efforts.
- GIS Tool Development and Optimization
- Develop and customize GIS tools to support efficient data input, analysis, and reporting.
- Explore and integrate emerging technologies, such as AI and machine learning, to enhance GIS capabilities.
- Collaboration and Information Sharing
- Facilitate information exchange among departments, regional partners, and external agencies.
- Prepare and disseminate GIS-based reports, dashboards, and visualizations to stakeholders.
- Training and Documentation
- Conduct training sessions for staff on GIS tools, data management, and best practices.
- Develop user guides and documentation to ensure consistent and effective GIS utilization.
- Strategic and Real-Time Support
- Provide GIS data support for strategic planning in emergency preparedness and response.
- Implement systems for real-time data monitoring and reporting during public health emergencies.
- Policy Development and Compliance
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies related to GIS data management, privacy, and security.
- Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in information handling and dissemination.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related field.
- 6 yrs experience
- Geospatial Data Analysis: Proficiency with Esri GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, ArcMap, Dashboards) and spatial analysis techniques.
- Data Management: Experience with database management, data quality assurance, and adherence to data standards.
- Programming and Development: Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for GIS application development.
- Visualization and Communication: Expertise in creating intuitive maps and visualizations to convey complex data effectively.
- Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to innovate and adapt to evolving challenges.
- Emergency Preparedness Knowledge: Understanding of public health emergency preparedness and response protocols.
- Project Management: Ability to plan, execute, and monitor geospatial projects under tight deadlines.
- Training and Technical Support: Experience in developing user training and providing ongoing technical support for GIS tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an HHS Public Trust
- U.S. Citizenship required
