Position Summary
The In-House Estimator & Production Assistant plays a vital role in the success of our projects by ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive, and well-communicated. This individual is responsible for preparing bids and proposals that result in awarded contracts that are profitable while maintaining the quality BRYJO is known for. The Estimator must operate under tight timeframes and manage multiple bids, responsibilities, and communications simultaneously.
In addition, this role is instrumental in maintaining strong vendor and client relationships, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and keeping both internal stakeholders and clients informed with clear, timely updates throughout the estimating and pre-construction phases.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Client Communication
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and well-structured project estimates using Xactimate.
- Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals aligned with project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
- Present all estimates to supervisor for review prior to client delivery.
- Follow up with clients after sending estimates; address questions, gather feedback, and build trust.
- Provide timely updates to both clients and internal stakeholders throughout the estimating process.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all communication in the CRM system.
- Support the Design Team by assisting with administrative coordination of material selections such as tile, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and paint colors. This includes researching availability, confirming details, and finalizing selections based on decisions made by the Design Team.
- Request and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors; identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Place material orders, confirm delivery timelines, and track shipments to ensure job readiness.
- Manage the permitting process across various citiesfrom application through approvalensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Build and nurture positive, professional relationships with vendors, suppliers, and trade partners.
- Stay sharp on construction market trends, material pricing, technologies, and regulations that affect project costs.
- Identify and present resourceful solutions and cost-saving opportunities that benefit both clients and the company.
- Support project managers with job costing, scheduling, and documentation.
- Provide back-up assistance to office administration as needed.
- Assist in monitoring project timelines and coordinating tasks for smooth execution.
- 2 years of professional experience using Xactimate for residential and/or commercial construction estimating.
- 2 years of hands-on estimating experience in the construction, roofing, or remodeling industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Tech-savvy, with confidence in using CRM systemsespecially construction platforms like JobTread or Buildertrend.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to thrive under pressure while juggling multiple deadlines.
- High aptitude for initiative, problem-solving, and resourcefulness.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with city permitting processes and local building departments.
- Knowledge of construction project workflows.
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment
- Claims adjusting experience a plus.
