**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Engage and Innovate:** Proactively review inpatient medical records during patient stays, identifying opportunities to enhance documentation quality and compliance with laws and regulations.
2. **Think Critically:** Use your keen analytical skills to balance reimbursement considerations with the need for regulatory compliance, driving documentation improvements.
3. **Communicate and Educate:** Facilitate effective communication with healthcare providers, ensuring accurate and complete clinical documentation. Collaborate with Medical Records staff to resolve discrepancies and provide educational feedback based on audit findings.
4. **Stay Ahead:** Keep up-to-date with current legislation and compliance requirements, ensuring all policies meet federal and state regulations.
5. **Investigate and Report:** Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, track complaints, and report findings to appropriate agencies. Assist in developing corrective action plans and ensure compliance.
6. **Drive Improvement:** Identify trends and opportunities to refine documentation review processes, supporting quality improvement initiatives.
7. **Support Committees:** Play a vital role in preparing for various committees, such as IRC and Quality, and participate in on-call coverage for Risk Management concerns.
8. **Analyze and Monitor:** Provide detailed analysis of internal data from incident reporting and complaint investigations, preparing comprehensive reports for audits and monitoring.
9. **Foster a Positive Environment:** Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work culture, adhering to attendance policies and promoting overall organizational success.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree preferred
