Full Time
Shift: 1:00pm-9:00pm
Responsibilities:
- Holds groups according to schedule and in a timely fashion. Arrives on the unit with ample time prior to each group to gather patients and encourage environment.
- Effectively provides introduction at the start of each group: introduces self, guidelines for group participation, purpose of group.
- Routinely completes TA Group Log Book, and uses same to prevent repetition of groups.
- Engages the patients in a variety of developmentally appropriate, purposeful activities that may include diversional, recreational, gross motor, crafts, sensory and social.
- Is active in the process of exploring, developing and implementing new program ideas with the guidance of credentialed TA Staff and TA Supervisor.
- Fills in or assists with other TA groups as assigned by Supervisor.
- Completes and enters a group note and or interim note regarding any specific concerns, 1:1's, events, specific group outcomes in a prompt manner.
- Demonstrates a basic awareness of current status of patients and specific units.
- Is mindful of patient centered approaches, trauma sensitivity and demonstrates basic sound clinical judgment in interactions with patients.
- Insures facility is safe both in and out of the context of TA space and groups, and reports any deficiencies to Supervisor in timely manor.
- Accurately completes the TA sharps/equipment inventory sign out/in sheet when using supplies.
- Alerts Supervisor regarding any area of concern: clinical, safety, judgement, professionalism, policy, both in and out of the TA Department.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in health related field.
- 1 year health related experience, psychology experience preferred.
- Experience running therapeutic groups preferred
