Bryn Mawr Medical Specialists is in need of a Patient Accounts Representative to join their growing team. The Patient Accounts Representative will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient management of patient accounts. Responsibilities:
- Assists patients in resolving medical bill issues, that may be overdue, or have insurance claim delays, in order to help the healthcare organization in collecting dues, for services rendered
- Collects and analyses information from patients, including non-payment issues, and determines a payment plan
- Processes claims via insurance carriers, documents, and updates patient billing account records with any changes in information
- Monitors overdue accounts, collects, and posts payments to patient accounts
- Reconciles billing and invoices
- Checks balances
- Drafts statements
- Maintains client files
- Reviews and verifies insurance accounts against program provisions
- Analyzes and reviews claims to ensure that payer-specific billing requirements are met
- Resolves routine patient billing inquiries and problems
- Follows up on billing, applying appropriate adjustments as needed
- Monitors overdue accounts, receives payments and posts amounts paid to customer accounts
- Records information about financial status of customers and status of collection efforts
- Arranges for debt repayment or establishes repayment schedules, based on customers' financial situations
- Locates and notifies customers of delinquent accounts by mail or telephone
