JOB SUMMARY :
We are seeking someone to ensure the smooth progress of day-to-day financial activities in support of the operation of these affiliated companies, their suppliers and customers. The candidate will be solely responsible for the entire finance function of both entities and help drive their day-to-day operations. Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Critical :
The candidate must possess and demonstrate exceptional inventory management and control skills, including analysis, cycle counting, variance investigation and reporting of same to management. Demonstrable ability to implement and maintain inventory controls and process improvements in relation to inventory flow & methodology. Ability to influence and support the production team in this is a critical component of the position.
- The candidate shall integrate into the local management team who report to the Company President of each affiliate. These are safety technology businesses; this sets high expectations of work accuracy upon all team members.
Essential :
Reporting of key cost drivers (Material, Labor, Scrap, Absorption Rates) including cost variances
Assist with the preparation of weekly / monthly financial reports
OTHER FUNCTIONS :
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Education : A bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Experience : Minimum of five (5) years Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience of working with Financial software packages. Knowledge of ERP Systems with strong experience of Great Plains software, in particular the manufacturing module.
Background : Able to sign BATF background check declaration and achieve approval by this agency or its designee to work at the IPD facility.
Knowledge : Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include advanced Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills.
Mental / Physical / Visual Demands : Ability to read, analyse, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to lift up to twenty- five pounds. Frequently needs to talk and hear. Occasionally stands, walks and sits, as well as using hands to touch or feel, and arms to reach.
Working Conditions : General office conditions. Moderate noise (examples : business office with computers and printers, light traffic, light mechanical manufacturing and assembly).
Equipment / Tools Used : Must possess the ability to learn the computer system and work with company enterprise software. Frequently uses office equipment such as telephones, facsimile machine, photocopier, LCD projector, etc.
Safety : Safe work performance is required from each employee at all times. Additionally, the proper
discharge of safety responsibilities is an integral part of each employee’s performance appraisal.
