Responsibilities
- Performs clerical and clinical duties under the direction of a physician and or registered nurse.
- Clerical duties may include scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, and maintaining medical records.
- Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and administering medications as directed by a physician.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA or equivalent); Current or Must be attained within three (3) months of hire
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Previous similar clinic experience
- Previous job experience in delivering exceptional customer service
- Competent use of personal computers and software programs including Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power-Point)
- Previous experience with EMR systems
- One year experience in a physician’s practice setting
