Get to Know Your Team:
- BSA Harrington Cancer Center is a state-of-the-art, 48,000-square-foot facility with two new linear accelerators for radiation treatments, 24 patient exam rooms, 28 heated chemotherapy infusion chairs and three private infusion rooms for families.
Responsibilities
- Mammography technologists will provide patient services using various imaging modalities, which may include stereotactic and breast MRI.
- Mammographer's are expected to perform screening and diagnostic procedures in a fast-paced environment.
- Need to exercise critical thinking skills, be able to troubleshoot, and be able to manage stress.
- Technologists follow the direction of the Breast Center Radiologist and establish procedures/protocols.
- Shifts are spent with extensive time on their feet and standing.
- When performing exams, technologists must adhere to all radiation safety precautions.
- Technologists must be available to complete exams at the main facility (HBC), detached facilities, and outreach settings.
- Technologist is responsible for the quality of images, positioning skills, and the basic knowledge of quality control tests.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- ARRT Certification in Radiological Technology
- Texas Department of Health License
- CPR
Preferred Job Requirements:
- 1 year experience in screening and diagnostic procedures
- Experience in performing QC tests
- Basic knowledge of stereotactic biopsies
- Associate Degree or Certificate required from a CAHEA approved Radiological Technology Program
- Mammo registry.
